We are looking for an experienced Skilled Construction Labourer / Site Supervisor Assistant to join our construction team. This is first and foremost a hands-on construction position. You will work directly on our job sites performing physical construction work, operating equipment, assisting trades, maintaining the site and doing whatever is required to keep the project moving. At the same time, you will work closely with the Site Supervisor and develop an understanding of the coordination, sequencing and organization required to deliver a Khachi project. We are looking for someone who doesn't wait to be told what needs to be done. You see it, take ownership of it and get it done.

What You'll Do

Hands-On Construction & Site Work

A significant portion of each day will be spent performing physical work on active construction sites.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the Site Supervisor with the day-to-day operation and coordination of active custom home projects

• Performing general construction and site work as required

• Receiving, unloading and organizing construction materials and equipment

• Preparing work areas and assisting trades as required

• Maintaining exceptionally clean, organized and professional job sites

• Assisting with site protection and preparation throughout various stages of construction

• Identifying site needs and taking initiative to address them

• Supporting the construction team in maintaining project schedules and quality standards

• Following and reinforcing Khachi's site safety standards

• Helping ensure the details of the build are executed properly from the earliest stages through completion

No task is considered beneath the position. If something needs to be moved, cleaned, protected, prepared or completed to keep the project moving, we expect our team to work together and get it done.

Support the Site Supervisor

Alongside the physical responsibilities of the position, you will support the Site Supervisor with the day-to-day operation of the job site.

This includes:

• Assist with organizing daily site activities and priorities

• Help coordinate site access, deliveries, materials and equipment

• Understand which trades are scheduled and help ensure the site is ready for their arrival

• Assist with communicating site requirements to trades and suppliers

• Monitor the site throughout the day and bring concerns to the Site Supervisor's attention

• Help identify incomplete work, deficiencies or potential problems

• Document site conditions and outstanding items when required

• Follow up on assigned tasks and ensure they are completed

• Maintain an understanding of what is happening on the project and what needs to happen next

Initiative & Problem Solving

Custom residential/ commerical construction changes quickly. We need someone who can think ahead rather than simply wait for instructions.

You will be expected to:

• Anticipate what materials, equipment or site preparation may be required for upcoming work

• Identify potential problems before they create delays

• Take initiative on routine site requirements without waiting to be asked

• Communicate issues clearly and promptly to the Site Supervisor

• Understand when you can solve something yourself and when it needs to be escalated

• Remain calm and solutions-focused when site conditions or priorities change

• Take ownership of assigned tasks from start to finish

Quality & Efficiency

Our standard of execution is high, and everyone on the site contributes to maintaining it.

You will help:

• Monitor workmanship and flag work that does not appear consistent with drawings, specifications or Khachi's quality expectations

• Protect completed work from damage as construction progresses

• Reduce unnecessary waste, rework and avoidable costs

• Use materials, tools and equipment responsibly

• Keep trades and work areas organized

• Maintain a site that reflects the Khachi standard

We expect people to work efficiently, but never at the expense of craftsmanship or quality.

What We're Looking For

You should have:

• Minimum 5 years of residential construction experience

• Experience with custom homes, renovations or similarly detailed residential construction

• Strong practical knowledge of residential construction and construction sequencing

• Ability to read and understand construction drawings

• Strong hands-on construction skills

• Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding work throughout the day

• Ability to lift and move construction materials and equipment

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently without constant supervision

• Professional communication skills when interacting with trades, suppliers, clients and the Khachi team

• Comfort with email, digital documentation and construction management software

• Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation

• Current WHMIS certification

• Current Working at Heights / Fall Protection certification

Working Conditions

This is an active construction position. Candidates should expect to spend the majority of their working day on active job sites.

The role requires regular:

• Walking, standing, climbing, bending and lifting

• Work indoors and outdoors throughout the year

• Exposure to dust, noise, construction equipment and changing weather conditions

• Navigation of uneven terrain and active construction environments

• Heavy lifting and movement of construction materials

• Travel between project sites

• Early mornings and occasional extended hours where required by the project

This isn't a production-building environment. You'll work on distinctive custom homes and commercial projects where architecture, interior design and construction are considered together and where the quality of execution matters.
